MAKE WAY FOR
COOKE-SASSEVILLE
FREE
Three oversized pigeons ogle a can of Campbell’s soup. Puzzled by the mysterious container, the birds seem oblivious to its contents or the means to access it. n reference to Pop Art and to the commodities often replicated by Andy Warhol, this work recalls the sometimes-elitist nature of contemporary art. Much like the monolith in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, the tin can is like a door to another world (the art world).
