THE EXPOSITION

MR. PINK TAKES FLIGHT

Mignonisme (Cuteism) is a poetically off-kilter movement to embrace the aesthetics of “cuteness” in our physical and psychological environments. Philippe Katerine presents a series of inflatable sculptures in public spaces, all featuring “Monsieur Rose” (Mr. Pink). The monumental icon of Mignonisme can be found perched on rooftops around the city. These characters transform the streets into playful places and our daily travels into delightful, colorful journeys.

From February to March, 2025, as part of Dig Shibuya 2025, Philippe Katerine’s iconic inflatable sculpture Mr Pink will cross continents to take up residence in the heart of Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s most emblematic districts. The famous Shibuya intersection is one of the busiest pedestrian crossroads in the world (almost 390,000 people a day!).
