ALEX CHINNECK
FIRST KISS AT LAST LIGHT
Master of illusion, the artist Alex Chinneck transforms overlooked urban elements into sparks of wonder. In First kiss at last light, two intertwined lampposts seemingly defy the laws of physics to embrace. By personifying these utilitarian objects, the artist infuses Montmorency Park with tenderness and whimsy. Reflecting the warmth of Old Québec, this luminous artwork becomes a poetic landmark of the historic district and its romantic streets.
Alex Chinneck’s artwork will be unveiled at Parc Montmorency on Friday, October 10, at 6 p.m. This inauguration is part of Réverbère, the free street arts event presented by the City of Québec.
As part of Réverbère, the Montreal collective Imagicario will present a performance inspired by First Kiss at Last Light.. To mark the occasion, the Montréal-based collective Imagicario will stage a performance inspired by First Kiss at Last Light. Bringing together scenographic artists, puppeteers, and stilt walkers, the troupe reimagines its street production Parédolïa, où des lampadaires vivants sur échasses déploieront une douce chorégraphie lumineuse.
