GIORGIA VOLPE AT PARC DES SAULES
At Parc des Saules, Giorgia Volpe presents a series of contemporary art installations inspired by memory, transformation, and the environment. Her artistic practice explores the reuse of salvaged materials and urban waste that carry stories and past uses.
Through the assembly, accumulation and displacement of materials, the artist creates open-ended works where social, imaginary and sensitive ecologies meet. Along the Saint-Charles River, her installations interact with trees and the natural landscape, evoking notions of regeneration, transmission and resilience.

About the public art trail
BETWEEN THEFT AND RESIDENCE
At the entrance to Parc des Saules, Between theft and residence deploys a series of suspended structures inspired by the kite. Made from recycled banners, these long, colorful forms float between the trees, guiding visitors towards the Maison O'Neil.
Between signal, movement and transformation, this outdoor public art installation transforms recycled materials into a poetic, immersive landscape.

THE CASES
Installed between the bike path and the footpath, The suitcases evokes forgotten luggage in the middle of a journey. Cast in solid concrete, these sculptures transform an object associated with travel into a symbol of immobility and obstacle.
Through this contemporary art installation, Giorgia Volpe addresses the realities of migration, human displacement and interrupted trajectories.

MIRAGE
Set up in a clearing in Parc des Saules, Mirage proposes a contemplative space composed of reflective structures inspired by domestic furniture. The mirrors capture fragments of sky, trees and natural landscape, creating a visual experience between illusion and reality.
Through this public art installation, Giorgia Volpe invites visitors to see their own reflection fused with the natural landscape.

MIGRATORY PASSAGE
Along the Saint-Charles River, Migratory passage unfurls a procession of woven canoes suspended between heaven and earth. Inspired by Quebec folklore, maritime traditions and native know-how, the installation evokes the migratory movements of humans and animals.
Through this immersive outdoor work, Giorgia Volpe tackles the themes of adaptation, vulnerability and resilience in the face of environmental change.

TAKING IT EASY
Suspended among the trees of the woodland, Taking it easy offers a series of blue hammocks woven from recycled maple tubing. Some structures are accessible to visitors, while others seem to be reserved for the species that inhabit the park.
This contemporary art installation in nature invites you to slow down, rest and reconnect with the forest environment.
