SALON DU BAD ART
Visit Salon du Bad Art takes up residence at l'Aire publique with an exhibition as unusual as it is engaging. Inspired by the great classical art salons of the 18th and 19th centuries, this space presents paintings considered "too bad to ignore". Clumsy, surprising or unintentionally comic, they become objects of fascination and curiosity.
Sourced from thrift stores, garage sales or even garbage cans, these creations by amateur artists celebrate the spontaneity and sincerity of the creative gesture. With humor and self-mockery, the Salon du Bad Art questions notions of taste, beauty and artistic legitimacy, while offering a unique cultural experience in Quebec City.
