EVER IS OVER ALL
Ever is Over All is a provocative pixelated video installation by internationally renowned artist Pipilotti Rist. Combining visual fantasy, social critique and a spellbinding soundscape, this cult work poetically questions the norms of femininity and everyday gestures of rebellion.
In a hypnotic staging, two projections juxtapose close-up tropical flowers with a striking scene: a smiling woman strides along an urban sidewalk. She holds a large flower, which she suddenly uses to smash a car window. All under the benevolent gaze of a policewoman. This unexpected gesture, somewhere between gentleness and subversion, becomes a liberating act filmed in slow motion.
The soundtrack oscillates between comfort and dissonance, accentuating the tension between calm and chaos. The pixelated, saturated aesthetic of the images, combined with the symbolism of a flower turned weapon, reveals a bold critique of social conventions and contemporary femininity.
EXMURO offers this work a unique presentation, projected onto the 17th-century stone walls of its projection room. This encounter between contemporary video and heritage architecture creates a striking contrast, adding a sculptural and sensory dimension to the experience.

ART ON THE EDGE OF CHAOS
For its 2025 program, EXMURO's Aire publique becomes the stage for artistic explorations in which humans are subjected to the powerful impulses of natural forces. Works by Pipilotti Rist (Switzerland), Isaac Cordal (Spain) and Martin Bureau (Quebec) subvert norms and reinterpret our assumptions, confronting the insidious forces of capitalism, patriarchy and the climate crisis. Sharing critical visions of the world, the three artists invite us to become collectively aware of the urgency to act, and remind us that every collapse holds the promise of renewal.
