0° PROJECT
Alongside the traditional ice sculptures of the Québec Winter Carnival, EXMURO offers a creative update on winter festivities with a group exhibition of photographic and sculptural installations in backlit ice blocks. Four artists have been selected for their series reflecting on our relationship with winter and the precariousness of climatic equilibrium: André Barrette, Duane Isaac, Jessica Houston and Charles-Frédérick Ouellet.
In a set-up that plays on the contrast between hot and cold, their explorations of climatic issues will interact with the icy material and its gradual melting over the course of the broadcast. Blocks of ice will be assembled into sculptural installations to stage photographic images in a variety of configurations. In a sensitive and entertaining way, the works of Projet 0° confront the public with the issues raised, creating an emotional link with the cause. By provoking strong reactions and powerful encounters, they contribute to the collective mobilization of communities
