The exhibition
Presented in the Aire publique screening room, The object of my affection is an immersive video installation by Dgino Cantin. Through projections, screens and visual illusions, the artist creates a contemplative universe centered on an abstract sculpture with hybrid, organic forms. This contemporary art exhibition in Quebec City offers a sensitive reflection on our emotional relationship with objects.
Shot in a rustic lakeside cottage, the film features a solitary man sharing his daily life with this strange sculpture, which he handles with gentle care. The effects of light, transparency and reflection blur the boundaries between inside and outside, reality and fiction. The work explores the silent bond that develops between an individual and an object charged with affection, evoking a desire to slow down and reconnect with the sensitive world.
