MONSIEUR ROSE TAKES OFF
Visit Mignonism is an artistic movement dreamed up by Philippe Katerine, whose universe is as surprising and delicate as its creator. With its resolutely poetic and offbeat influences, this movement advocates the propagation of cuteness in our physical and psychic environments. With lucidity, Mignonism praises beauty in simplicity.
In the effigy of "Monsieur Rose", icon of the Mignonisma set of inflatable sculptures gently invades the area around Place Royale in a playful and colorful journey. As you look up at the facades, rooftops and trees, you'll be amazed to discover them. With their curves and bubblegum hues, the characters stand out in the historic district. Philippe Katerine takes pleasure in upsetting the established order with their incongruous presence and drawing us into the fiction. The pink figures converge on the Aire publique EXMURO in themignoniste exhibition.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
PHILIPPE KATERINE
Philippe Katerine is a popular artist worth (re)discovering. He subverts aesthetic norms and thwarts cultural conventions while retaining his highly personal and singular tone. Actor, director, singer and composer, the artist is also a visual artist. He likes to depict everyday life by paraphrasing, with humor, the great questions of existence.
Revealed by the song I love Luxor in 2005, Philippe Katerine is first and foremost known for his musical career. In 2020, he was named best male artist of the year at the Victoires de la Musique awards. He is also a prolific actor. In 2020, he won the César for Best Supporting Actor for Le Grand Bain.
