MONSIEUR ROSE TAKES OFF

This winter, French artist Philippe Katerine transforms the Flatiron and NoMad neighborhoods into a playful art trail. Nine inflatable and resin sculptures bearing the likeness of the emblematic Monsieur Rose will enliven the neighborhood's rooftops and public spaces, transforming it into a vibrant and convivial destination. As part of the Flatiron NoMad Partnership's Winter Glow program, Monsieur Rose offers an immersive winter experience accessible to all.

These sculptures embody Mignonisme, Katerine's whimsical movement that celebrates softness, color and creativity in everyday life. Imbued with charm and mischief, the oversized figures lightly inhabit the streets, enchanting passers-by with their joyful appearances.

Much more than just a visual experience, Monsieur Rose energizes the city, inviting curiosity, encounters and wonder. These charming characters offer a playful break in the urban rhythm, encouraging New Yorkers to smile, explore and rediscover their surroundings. Proof that public art can create spaces of joy, imagination and conviviality.
