The exhibition

Precy Numbi transforms himself into an eco-futurist hero, maneuvering astonishing outfits of metal, plastic and electronic scrap from car wrecks. These monsters of contemporary over-consumption seem to emerge directly from the stream of Western waste that washes up on the African continent. In the image of today's society and its misbehavior, the Robot sapiens Kimbalambala (a vernacular word meaning "worn-out vehicle" in Lingala) embodies our technological, ecological and political derelictions.

Co-presented with Productions Recto-Verso, as part of Mois Multi 2023 curated by Emile Beauchemin.
