HUMANORIUM - THE STRANGE FUNFAIR

HUMANORIUM - THE STRANGE FUNFAIR

A large-scale collective event, Humanorium is an open-air fair inspired by the funfairs of the 19th and 20th centuries. In a singular, accessible environment where entertainment and wonder meet, Humanorium reinvents the sensational world of fairground arts with artists from Quebec, Canada and Europe. Their creations set traps for the unsuspecting public in the seductive guise of bewitching rides, intriguing attractions and playful booths.

Humanorium's works touch on various facets of human existence. They depict the body in all its states, they represent different expressions of identity, and they provide sensory experiences. The distinct universes in which the artists immerse us evoke the human condition at its most beautiful, painful and funny. With treats in your hands and stars in your eyes, day or night, join the spontaneous festivities at Place de Paris!

ATTRACTIONS LE CARROUSEL - BGL (QUEBEC CITY - QUEBEC)

Crazy ride, guaranteed fun! An unusual turntable invites you to take your place in grocery baskets, well protected by multiple safety fences. As intrepid passengers, you'll become a beautiful commodity.

THE SHOOTING RANGE - MARC SÉGUIN (MONTREAL - QUEBEC)

Is visou one of your strengths? Then come and try your luck at hitting the target and, at the same time, shooting the artist's self-portrait. With a slingshot and a ball of paint, dare to hit the heart of the work. Narcissism and self-mockery guaranteed!

CINÉMA L'ESPOIR - 2 SCREENINGS :

- ERUOMA AWASHISH (PEKUAKAMI - QUEBEC) - KIWEW (SHE'S GOING HOME)

- CAROLINE MONNET (TIOHTIÀ:KE - MONTRÉAL - QUEBEC) - CREATURA DADA

In an unusual screening room, you are invited to view two short films, beautiful and disturbing, echoing the extraordinary strength of native women. In the land of reconciliation, there is red celebration, red lobster, red child, red love, red blood; there is white hope, light hope.

LA REMISE DE DIOGÈNE - THÉÂTRE RUDE INGÉNIERIE (QUEBEC CITY - QUEBEC)

Activate this forgotten flea market display, this mechanical orchestra! The percussion of chunks of wood, the chords of mixers, the tinkle of antique crockery, the flicker of lampshades: the dust rises and a surprising music emerges.

LE PETIT ACOUSMONIUM - ERIK D'ORION (MONTREAL - QUEBEC)

Just step inside this small, attractive fairground shack, and you'll be plunged into an immense, almost infinite universe of sound. Your auditory and physical imagination will experience very special fairground moments, in a maelstrom of laughter and screams.

THE MUSEUM OF DEATH - JACK BURMAN (TORONTO - CANADA)

The museum of death! A haunted house, some might say? This is a journey through the vividness of post-mortem photographs, inviting you to become aware of the sensuality of the body as you approach the fine line between life and death.

LE FREAK SHOW - JOAN FONTCUBERTA (BARCELONA - SPAIN)

Fear not, and rub shoulders with many strangers on screens; people who inflict manipulations on their own bodies in order to display themselves unscrupulously on the immense freak show that is sometimes the Internet. Deliberate monsters and new global identities..

LA CHAMBRE DE CURIOSITÉS 1 - DGINO CANTIN (QUEBEC - QUEBEC)

A timeless, sumptuous room, offering a visit to the land of Siamese sculptures and imaginary beasts. An enclosed, offbeat universe in which you find yourself surrounded by objects both familiar and strange. Elsewhere is here!

SIRONOMENA - DGINO CANTIN (QUEBEC - QUEBEC)

Rare specimen on display! Sublime beauty to behold! An animal woman or a Madonna with patched skin and a glittering body will surprise you... if she decides to appear, that is, when your own reflection disappears.

CABINET DE CURIOSITÉS 2 - LOUIS FORTIER (MONTREAL - QUEBEC)

A work of art can be contemplated, or conversely, it can be scrutinized. This is what awaits you in this room, where astonished glances are turned towards you, the sole spectator. All around you, a tide of people, a societal portrait in which each individual tries to assert his or her place.
